Privacy Policy

The short version: your trips, routes, addresses, clients, MLS numbers and notes stay on your iPhone. If you turn on backup, they're encrypted on your phone first, so we can't read them. We don't sell data, show ads, or use analytics that track you.

Who we are

KeyMiles is an app made by Terry Michael Taylor, an independent real estate agent on Guam ("KeyMiles", "we", "us"). Contact: support@getkeymiles.com.

Information on your phone

To record trips automatically, KeyMiles uses your iPhone's location and motion data. That information — along with the trips it creates and anything you add (purpose, client, MLS #, property address, notes, saved places, vehicle and odometer) — is stored on your iPhone. Street addresses are looked up using Apple's built-in map service.

Encrypted backup (optional)

If you sign in, KeyMiles backs up your trips to our cloud provider, Google Firebase. Before anything leaves your phone, it is encrypted with a key that is created on your phone and kept in your iCloud Keychain and on your printed Recovery Key. We never have this key, so we cannot read your backed-up trips, and we cannot recover them if you lose both your iCloud Keychain and your Recovery Key.

To run backup, our provider stores: an account identifier created by Firebase, the encrypted backup files, and the dates they were saved.

Sign in with Apple

We use Sign in with Apple only to know that a backup belongs to you. We do not request your name or email address from Apple.

Subscriptions

Purchases are handled by Apple. We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app ID and your purchase history from Apple; it does not receive your trips or location.

Crash reports

If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. They do not include your location or trips.

What we don't do

We don't sell or rent your information, show ads, use advertising identifiers, or track you across other apps and websites.

Keeping and deleting your information

Trips stay on your iPhone until you delete them or the app. Encrypted backups are kept as long as your account exists, because tax records may be needed for several years. You can delete your account and all backups at any time in the app: Settings › Account & Backup › Delete account and backups.

Children

KeyMiles is for working professionals and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
